13 May 2007 was no typical Sunday at Lower Seletar Reservoir. In conjunction with Nee Soon South Community Day 2007, People’s Association’s (PA) new Water-Venture @ Lower Seletar was launched with a BIG splash!
Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan, together with Members of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC and Sembawang GRC graced the event.

More than 3,000 residents had a wonderful Sunday afternoon by the reservoir, where they enjoyed themselves at a fun-filled carnival with stage performances, food and games stalls. In conjunction with the event, PUB set up an exhibition that showcased our Active, Beautiful, Clean (ABC) Waters programme.
As part of the event, inter-constituency and inter-agency dragon boat races were also held at the reservoir. PUB’s men team came in third in the Inter-Agency Dragon Boat Championship (Open Category). Our Senior Management team powered their way through the waters to come in first in the heats and clinch fourth position in the finals of the Senior Management Category.

Under the ABC Waters programme, a heritage bridge and water stage will be built at Lower Seletar Reservoir. Part of the plan also involves having viewing galleries and beautiful landscaping at the reservoir park. With the newly opened Water-Venture sports outlet, residents are now able to enjoy a host of activities such as kayaking and dragon boating right at their door step.
